Three Cards, Three Jobs
Custom cards are often grouped together, but each type does a different job. Choosing the right ones keeps your printed pieces consistent and your budget focused.
- Place cards and table cards guide guests during the event and set the tone of the room.
- Thank-you cards close the loop after the event and stay in a drawer or on a shelf for years.
- Collector-style cards are keepsakes handed out at the event, a printed card with a photo, a name and a custom theme.
Place and Table Cards
Good place cards are easy to read and look like they belong to the event. Match the typeface and colours to your invitations and your blessing magnets so the printed pieces feel like one family. Keep the guest name large and the table or seat number clear. If you have guests who read another language, include a second line in that language rather than a separate card.
Plan quantities per guest, with a few spares for late additions and printing errors. The minimum order is 50 pieces.
Photo Thank-You Cards
A thank-you card with a photo from the day feels more personal than a plain one. Choose a clear, well-lit image with the family or the guest of honour and keep the message short: thank the guest by name, mention something specific about their gift or presence and sign it personally.
A few wording ideas:
- Thank you for celebrating with us. Seeing you there made the day.
- Your kind words and generous gift meant so much to our family.
- We are so grateful you shared this milestone with us.
Timing matters. Many families aim to send thank-you cards within a few weeks of the event, while the memories are fresh. Order your cards early so they are printed and ready when the photos are chosen.
Collector-Style Cards
Trading-card-style keepsakes are a popular choice for bar and bat mitzvahs, sports parties and team events. Each card can feature a photo, a name, a number or a custom theme. They work best when the design echoes the event: a sports theme with a jersey number, a music theme with a stage look. We design them with you and send a digital proof before printing.
Pricing and Ordering
Custom cards start from $3.50 each for 50 or more; the final price depends on size, finish and quantity, so request a quote with your numbers. Design and a digital proof are included in the quote process. We recommend ordering at least three weeks before your event, and book a live photo magnet package at the same time to take 10 percent off your favour and card order. Delivery in Greater Montréal and shipping across Canada are quoted separately.
A Simple Thank-You Workflow
- List every guest and gift while the event is fresh.
- Choose two or three favourite photos and let us design a card template.
- Approve the proof and order the number you need plus a few spares.
- Write a short personal line on each card; a name and one specific detail go a long way.
- Mail them in batches so none are forgotten.
Choosing the Right Photo
The best card photos are well lit, show faces clearly and leave some quiet space where the message can sit. Group photos work well for family cards; a single smiling portrait suits a guest of honour. Avoid images where someone is mid-bite or blinking, and choose a photo that still looks good when printed small.
Matching Cards and Magnets
The cleanest approach is to design cards and magnets together. Choose one palette, one or two typefaces and one wording style, and use them across place cards, favours and thank-you cards. The result looks professional and costs no more than designing each piece separately, because the design work is shared.
