Digital Photo Gallery vs Printed Photo Magnets: Why Most Events Want Both

Two Tools for Two Jobs

People often treat digital and printed photos as alternatives. They are better seen as tools for different jobs. A printed magnet is a physical keepsake guests hold before the night is over. A digital gallery is a shareable library hosts and guests can browse, download and post later. One is about the moment; the other is about the afterlife of the photos.

What a Printed Magnet Does Best

What a Digital Gallery Does Best

Where Each Falls Short

A magnet is limited to a single moment and a single size, and it is not easy to share with relatives overseas. A gallery is easy to forget: links get buried in email, and photos that live only on a screen are less likely to be seen. This is exactly why the pair works so well, since each covers the weakness of the other.

Privacy and Consent

A private gallery should be shared only with the people you choose, using a link or QR code, and photos of guests should be handled with consent in mind. In Quebec, privacy rules apply to how personal information, including images, is collected and used, so tell guests how photos will be shared and keep access limited. If you plan to publish photos publicly or use them in marketing, get permission first and ask your advisers if you are unsure.

Cost and What Is Included

Our private digital photo gallery is $199 as an add-on and is included with the Grand package ($1,999, five hours and two photographers) and with Brand Activation, which starts from $1,499. Printed magnets are unlimited during your booked time: Starter is $499 for one hour, Classic is $849 for two hours with a third hour at $350, and Full Night is $1,399 for four hours. Events above 500 guests are quoted custom.

How Long Should a Gallery Stay Online?

Decide this before the event and tell guests. A limited window encourages guests to download their photos soon, and you can extend it on request. Keep the link private, avoid posting it publicly and share it only with the people you intend.

Using Both: A Quick Example

Imagine a 100-guest celebration. The Classic package prints unlimited magnets for two hours, so every guest leaves with a keepsake. The gallery add-on collects the evening's photos in one private place, and the hosts later choose favourites for a custom thank-you card. Each tool does its own job, and neither feels redundant.

A Simple Way to Combine Them

  1. Print magnets during the event so guests leave with a keepsake.
  2. Share the gallery link or QR code at the end of the night or in your thank-you message.
  3. Choose a few gallery favourites for custom cards or thank-you magnets, which you can order afterward.

That gives guests an immediate keepsake, hosts a lasting library and your thank-you notes a personal photo.
